    I'm not sure if it's true or not but I saw someone say in the SOA topic that a admin said two plague parents increase chances significantly

    I saw that post too. I wonder if that means the probabilities are stacked somehow. So if the chance of passing down the coat is 20% from a single Pestilentia parent then having both parents be Pestilentia's would make the chance 40% (?) (those aren't the real numbers by the way, I just made some up for the example). Or, is there some sort of bonus to having both parent being Pestilentia - the probability becomes greater than the sum of its parts perhaps default smiley *-)

    Having two Pestilentia coat parents wont increase the probability or make give it a bonus, it would be just like crossing Two cremellos, you will not have a better chance of getting a cremellodefault smiley ;)

    Well actually it makes some logical sense...there's a chance of getting it from one parent, and *another* chance from the second parent. So the chance might actually be increased.

    However, That may not be the way that Howrse wanted it to work so they could have that worked out where it would not increase the chances.

    Good Point, however if you got a covering out of the sales from a Pestilentia and accepted with a normal horse, would you be able to get the coat? default smiley :-x

    Only one parent needs to have the Pestilentia coat to pass it down, so you would be able to get the coat.

    With a public covering there would be no way to tell if it was one of the first 5 coverings from that Pestilentia stallion... so you could have a chance, but you might not have a chance either.

    Sadly, this is true - but there are *complex* ways to possibly figure out if the chance is there or not;

    1. Look at the number of coverings - if it is 5 coverings or less, it is probably safe to assume that it is a Pesti cover

    If the covering amount is more than 5 - start checking the offspring. As this item was only added on the 31st - you need to only look and see if there are between 5 to 10 (if wands are used) foals with a birthdate after the 31st

    Of course, even if you do all this - there's still no guarantee (as foals might not have yet been born, they were placed in the Safe Haven, the horse was bolted [the covering number stays - but the offspring vanish from the record]
