- 2014-03-19Retired breederUmmm... I never herd anything about "Matching tack" in the game. That was only for the Horse Parade promo, because Promo aside, we don't win bonuses that way. I may be wrong, so if I am, I'm sorry.
Some people are very happy about this new update (And it appears that the majority of players were, considering that it was voted on) and so, yes, I would consider it a "service" to most everyone. Obviously, everyone can't be pleased, out of over 50,000 players. - 2014-03-19Retired breederPlease, let's *try* to be thankful?
Howrse *is* trying to improve the game. Probably the younger players will enjoy it. I'm not telling you not to complain. Don't get me wrong. I don't like these new coats very much. (Excluding the teke and curly.)
Its just that howrse *is* trying to help, even if its not what we wanted/pictured. Can we give them *a little* credit? - 2014-03-19Retired breederShishi no Seirei wrote:
NMHORSELOVER: then dont play horsie dress up. Easy.SImple.
And with the matching combo points I belive you mean the bonuses.
put the tack on,disable the "show tack" so you dont have a dressed up horsie, done.
And the bonuses will probably will be similiar to the ones current saddle, bridle gives.
The only combo-points I seen be given to horse for its matching tack is in the promo and I doubt the normal tack willl work the same as the parades.
Aren't people entitled to their opinions? I don't want to start a fight or anything, but everyone has their own opinion, and this topic is where people can express what they think of things possibly coming to Howrse. So NMHORSELOVER apparently cannot express their opinion...along with anybody who doesn't like dress up... myself included.
On the other hand, was it really voted on? I must have missed that.
Oh well. - 2014-03-19Retired breederMiss Blue wrote:
Write this down, kids.
The matching tack/bonuses will end up becoming pass items. Mark my words. We currently have only one tack option in the black market. Anyone who thinks Howrse won't be adding "special" leg wraps, bonnets, etc to the black market does not know how this game works.
Yes, because they already have something like that, I don't see why they won't. I also don't see why it's such a big deal. It IS optional, so you obviously don't have to do it. - 2014-03-19Retired breederDiversification of the tacks
Then we will bring even more realism by introducing new types of tacks: the saddle cloth, the bonnet and the leg wraps. This will provide more diversity on the game.
Each of these new tack items will exist in several colors and patterns. So you will have a lot of possibilities to customize your horses and get very unique ones!
The saddle cloth will become compulsory in order to enter competitions, in addition to the saddle and the bridle. Yet the bonnet and the leg wraps will be optional that way you don’t have to buy too many items of tacks for every single horse.
And you won’t have to give them horseshoes any more. Indeed horseshoes can’t be customized much to the contrary of the other tack items. So they don’t really need to be displayed on horses. Thus, we have decided they will only remain as a bonus offered by the farrier of an equestrian center, making the farrier more interesting at the same time. Be sure that you won’t lose anything: you will receive a compensation for the horseshoes you and your horses have.
Like the already available tack items, the new ones will also give a skill bonus to the horses that wear them. And we are considering correcting the skill bonus of the existing tacks in order to offer the same bonus in all 6 skills. That way, there won’t be a competition which will be favored more than the others.
Even better, if your horses wear a saddle cloth, a bonnet and leg wraps which have a common color, then they will get an additional skill bonus. Try to find the best associations to both get the highest bonuses and have the best-looking horses!

Copied straight from the howrse blog, for anyone who was wondering.

Ah ok. Now everything's cleared up. Haha. On a happier note, what does everyone think the grand prizes of the Horse Parade are going to be? - 2014-03-19Jinx4: a new divine (Its AMAZING o.o<3) and a nee breed release
