First you dont need buy Junior Croesus but need just call your own horse in his name and wait for miracle and second, in pinjata 18th in reward is Greyfell

no it is not mandatory but you could use them to pogress faster

well it is not possible to finish piñata 20 without them, but you do not have to be a pass buyer to use hops. You just have to have passes, which you can earn.

Do stuff like sell horses, train up rosette winning foals and then sell them when you're done with the, use the trades.

I have earned almost all of my passes/wilds/divines without purchasing passes. I only purchased maybe 40 passes total my entire time playing here? It is entirely possible to make passes without buying them
However, Howrse does have to make money somehow and these events I assume are where most is made.
And I think someone said at some point you have to use 12 HoPs to finish? But that was most likely an estimate since they don't give exact points.- Thanks waterangel and JadedNight for the pass info. Unfortunately I have no idea how these people get 'rosette winning' horses and Divines! I have only one that I actually try to win rosettes with and that one always comes 4th or 5th!
