I just went back and looked at the PrePod topic. What I posted in the spoiler was a screenshot of MeOw's topic header and it's still the same as yesterday. On page 2 MeOw states different info. If the 2nd bit of info is correct (like you say) then the topic header is very misleading as it was pure luck that I saw her post with different info. It would be nice to know which way is correct.
All I can say is if I test it on a horse there I get this:

Yes Ow's post states that skills are like this:
Mountain Rides
Stamina
Dressage
Jump
Forrest Rides
Speed
Trot
Gallop
But what you can see from the above caps it has changed.
There was some talk to make the rides more balances thus the change. I do how ever NOT know if the rides we have now are the final one or if it's going to change back to the previous tweak.
But we'll know once we get the change in a few days time.
