I don't like the VIP thing at all. It's just another way to show who is supreme and for howrse to rake in money. Let everyone play the test server. Not everyone is fortunate enough to buy 50 passes.
No, no, no, and no.
1. VIP can be bought with money just as anything in life. Offer the right amount of money, you can get whatever you want. But it also can be earned without money.
2. Most VIPs simply placed in the top 100 rosette rankings (very easily) at the beginning of the month. Skill a horse, win 30 rosettes on the first of the month and you've qualified for the VIP.
3. Yes it's 10 passes a month. And yes that is very achievable for non-pass buyers. *If you work at it*.
4. No, not all players should be allowed to test. Why should someone who hasn't worked for it deserve the privilege? The answer is: They don't.
If you haven't done much on the game and you haven't proven that you have a strong and justified opinion that can truly contribute to these testing sessions, why would Howrse want your opinion? People who get the opportunity to test are people who have worked for it and have proven their commitment by becoming VIPs or well respected players. It is a privilege to test and not even all VIPs get that chance.
5. I'm sorry that you haven't picked this up, but the purpose of Howrse to the big bosses is to "rake in money". Because it's a company. That's the whole point.

I find the name quite stupid actually haha. Does spending 10 passes a month for some benefits make you more important? I never felt more important at least

I think of it as "hey we've seen that you spend a lot of time devoted to the game. As a way to show we appreciate your loyalty to the game here's some added perks to your game in exchange for a few passes."
With the obligatory way of being able to buy into it. It's howrse. They like their money.
I personally qualified for VIP before I bought passes with top 50 rosettes and playing the game in a strategic way. All of those BMI you get over time add up if you use them wisely.
