I can't believe that you can get 1,000 passes in the treasure chest!!!

Yes - this is possible (it is one of 3 Jackpot prizes) - but it is very, very, very, very, very, very, *10 more verys*, very, rare to happen. Since the Treasure Chest was added - I only heard of One person getting a Jackpot prize (and that was on the Australian Server).
That aside ~ bringing this forward to help people decide what might be best for their center based on what resources are used for. It does NOT cover how much of each is needed to make something, how long it takes, etc. It is simply a list of all items - and what they are used for (apologies if I missed anything):

So if you want a Center with a lot of boxes - the Beach or Forest might be best for you as you get Wood and Sand (both of which are used to repair and build boxes). If you want to be able to offer things like Troughs, showers, and tack - the Mountains might be better as you can get Iron to produce these things with.
It's all going to come down in the end to what you want to do with your center.

Click to displayiron is used to craft water and feed (?) throughs and a few more items (have a look back a few pages, someone has posted it there) the location depends on how you want to start of your EC although i wouldn't recommend beach as your final location as this turns away BLUPpers with high skillers horses

Iron is used for;
All 6 different kinds of Bridles
All 6 different kinds of Saddles
Spurs
Horseshoe studs
Water Trough
Showers
Tractors
Feeding Trough
You'll get straw from Wheat which is used in the best fertilizer.
Wheat bran is also used in mashes. (As are apples)
Leather is used in.. lots of stuff.
Flax is used for ear bonnets, polo wraps and saddle cloths.
The location depends on what you want to produce
