I bought this horse that has -0.00 trot, despite a positive GP. All other stats are normal.

Is this a glitch?

I know that Jade can have negative stats, but I didn't know a normal horse could have it as well. default smiley (o)

  • Also, can it be bred? Or is it a one-time thing? default smiley 8-)

I know that in the past it was possible to breed towards negative skills, but that was made impossible at some point.
You can find such horses in sales sometimes.

This horse was born in 2017, so maybe it is from before that time indeed?

Second question: the horse has been bred before, you can see that in her offspring list. So my guess is you can breed her as normal.

  • Thanks Meeki. I meant if it's possible to pass her -0.00 trait to the next generation, but based on your answer I guess it won't be possible. default smiley :)

The only way you could is to find another horse with negative gp, at least in the trot. There are still quite a lot around although whether any offer covers I couldn't say.

The gp for that skill would need to be lower than your horse's as there will be a small gain when you breed and that cannot be avoided..

Finishing her training should bump up her trot skills to no longer be -0.00. If she is trained and and her rides are finished she will have better skills herself, and may pass on slightly better genetics.
Having her fully BLUPed, will transfer better skills along to her foal. It's a more time consuming process but it will improve genetics in the long run.

    Hey,
maybe there have been beach rides made, which reduced the trot skills slightly more than what the horse had before. I remember having seen this on one of my horses.

  • She's not likely to be a Zero/Negative GP Project horse, because she's a purebred Selle. Almost every horse you'll find from the old Project is a Standardbred-dominant mix (usually Standardbred 32.6%, Paint Horse 26.0%, Arabian Horse 24.3%, Newfoundland Pony 17.0%). Also, her Trot GP is well into positives (400+) so even bred to an old Project horse, she wouldn't be likely to reproduce the odd-looking skill level.

Instead and more likely, she's a horse who had low or no Inborn Skills at birth, and a previous owner did Beach Rides to drop her Trot skill like that.

You can compare her to my favorite old Project horse, Merauke and see the differences across GP.

  • It's the beach rides!

Thank you all for your help! I tested the beach rides theory and managed to reduce her Gallop to -0.00 as well!

Cool to know it's a thing. default smiley :d
