Hi there! I'm a returning player, and I still have my original foundational line from when I played back in 2013. I'm trying to grow that line, just for my own personal enjoyment, but I'm really struggling with getting competition wins with them since most of them have a GP under 400. Any advice on BLUPPING these guys besides a bunch of Athena's Medals? Even competitions that are 0% difficulty for low level horses allow entries with skills for the main stat up to like 700.

If anyone wants to take a look, I'm specifically trying to BLUP the horses in my Arabian farm under Breeding Projects on my page. I'd really appreciate any advice! Thank you!

  • Under 400 GP would admittedly be difficult, I personally wouldn't waste items or BMI trying to get them to 100 BLUP.

I do have a low-GP line I breed just as a fun challenge, and what do with it is breed them similar to donkeys - just try to hit 60 BLUP (bolded skills, ten years of age, no wins) and if I get a win or two consider that a bonus.

The GP *will* rise considerably over time with this method. At very low GP you can get gains of hundreds of points, even without wins. Eventually they'll reach a point where you can enter them in low-skilled comps and get them a bit higher BLUP.

This is solid advice, thanks for the response! It's good to know that the GP will still improve enough for it to be worth it even without 100 BLUP on the first couple of generations.

  • Using BMIs, doing rides and target training are good and also using fillers if you can will help with wins. Also the NIB community sometimes does filler parties to help with getting wins for NIBs. There is a dedicated NIB thread in the Events forum where you might get extra help though it can be a bit slow. But as an NIB breeder myself who also does OG foundies I can tell you it is possible to get wins on the OG foundies but it is very difficult and takes awhile.
