Is there a way to tell if a horse was born using tears? I’m on the mobile version if it makes a difference.
- 2026-04-04You can tell by the amount of in born skills and by comparing the skills with the gp. If a foal has over 7000 ibs and high gp, it's likely a teared foal. If the foal had something like 6000 or under, it wouldn't have had tears used on it, unless the gp was quite a bit lower than the current top, or it was bred from parents with a lower average blup.
Teared fully blupped horses will have around 7000+ higher skills than their gp when bred at the top. Example, say the gp was 31000 and the skills were bolded at 37000. This example wouldn't have been teared. Unless it was trained at under 100% health without the vip perk to remove health penalties, or was born from parents with under 100 blup.
GP and skills go up over time, so this is something to be mindful of when comparing skills and gp. But these numbers are accurate to what we currently have.
- 2026-04-04Wow, thank you. So with the health penalty, should I feed enough to get my horse to 100% before training? Then feed again?
- 2026-04-04Yes. You horse should always be at 100% before training. Unless he is more than 25 years old a horse will always stay at 100% unless he is not groomed or is not checked before bedtime to make sure he has eaten enough.
Most health problems are caused by weight. A horse, pony or donkey should weigh approximately height x 70. A draft should be height x 110. - 2026-04-04Keep in mind that feeding gives horse MOST energy if they have high energy already (but it caps at 100% so make sure to not feed more than needed to reach 100% or you'll be wasting potential energy)
Opposite to that, stroking gives most energy when horse has low energy (stroke at 0% energy gives almost 12% energy, stroking at 80% energy gives the horse only 2% or so)
You can bring the horse down to 0% energy during the day and it won't affect its health negatively, as long as you bring it up to 20% and fed the required amount before the daily update/using Aging point.
