How do I get sand? is it from doing missions on my horses at other peoples center or by having my equestrian center at the beach?

    The EC owner gets the resources when boarders do missions, not the horse's owner.

    The easiest way to get free sand is by having your EC on the beach, and having boarders do missions.

    You can get quite a bit by opening up luck items, and owning divines that gift sand, too.
