Hey! I have recently begun breeding Fjords (I'm BLUPing my starter pair) and I came across something weird when I started BLUPing my second (my stallion). His top three skills are Speed, Dressage, and Stamina, in that order, with respective values of 144.18, 113.85, and 110.96. He is purebred with a total GP of 593.40. However, my mare (also purebred) has total GP of 573.03, and her top skills are Speed, Trot, then Stamina, with respective values of 132.34, 115.19, and 107.23. I see that on the breed page, the top three should be Speed, Stamina, and Gallop, though that is for the new foundies, and both of mine were bred from OG foundies. However, it shouldn't be different, should it? Can somebody please explain this to me? TIA!

  • I can't recall if Fjords were released with the incorrect skill set, or if it were just some foundations at the time of the original released that had the wrong skillset, but some did, and the breed was eventually corrected. If the Fjords you have are quite old (it would have been around 2010 or so) then they were some of those anomalies. Their descendants will adjust the skill set to the correct one after a couple of generations

Fjords were originally released with a trot comp skillset (trot/speed/dressage in that order as the top three) this was later amended.

Sometimes when breeding, you can find the third and fourth skill can alternate if the original GP is close enough. This is due to a variance in how GP is calculated behind the scenes. I have some purebred Arabs that have Stamina/Dressage/Gallop as their top three as opposed to Stamina/Dressage/Jump.
